Clim-ATIC invites you to its International project conference, Florø, Norway, 26-28 October 2010.

Aims:

• Show how climate change adaptation can be mainstreamed at the community level, and what is the role of local government in this emerging area
• Bring together and present Clim-ATIC lessons – challenges and opportunities
• Promote the outcome of Clim-ATIC – training course in climate change adaptation
• Explore future opportuniites in the Northern Periphery

Activities:

• 2 day seminar and round-table debates
• Poster exhibition at conference venue
• Local excursions
• Conference dinner with cultural activities
• 1 day adaptation excursion (post-conference)

Target audience/participants:

• Local and regional politicians, EU/Nordic level policymakers, National Climate Change organisations
• Community stakeholders, teachers
• Organisers of other existing or future EU adaptation projects
• Northern Periphery Programme (NPP) representatives
• Clim-ATIC participants and partners, Clim-ATIC co-financing organisations, Clim-ATIC Regional Support Group representatives

Costs

The event, including lunches, coffee breaks and the conference dinner, will be free to attend for all participants.

Clim-ATIC project partners, associated partners and co-financers will get a refund on travel and accommodation expenses. Invited speakers will also a get a refund on travel and accommodation expenses. All other delegates will have to cover their own travel, accommodation and non conference meal expenses. There will also be a small payment required to cover the 1 day excursion costs.
